What do you guys think about this tire changer? Good deal? Too cheap. I don't know much about them. Price is right, though.

For personal use? Perfect.
For commercial use? Terrible.

That's like the Hyosung of tire changers. Kinda looks like the real thing, but reliability, performance, and resale value are sorely lacking. I would look for a used brand name that is better built and has parts available if needed. Coats as mentioned is the big name. I have a Snap-On which is made in Italy by Corghi. It has held up well to years of commercial use.
The "Tiger" would probably be okay, but I have had enough of shitty Chinese tools.

I have one and spoke to a few people that do before I purchased. Its definitely not made as well as maybe a coats (never used one either so can't tell for sure) but gets the job done fine. I could put you in touch probably with folks that have had theirs longer than mine or answer any questions you have.
The only issue I've heard of is that the air seal on the bead breaker cylinder can go and isn't sold separately, so when i get a chance i'm going to put some pnuematic tool oil on it i think.
Be careful with the sale price too, a lot of times its like $300-$400 for residential delivery.
EDIT: the takeaway i took from those that owned one is that it works great, for personal or occasional (read not full time shop) usage, as anyone that had a full time shop bought the name brand stuff. However most negative reviews came from those who didn't own one mentioning a lot of quality/Chinese manf concerns.
EDIT 2: for motorcycle use the one you linked won't work you want this one:

although the one you linked can work but you'd need to buy the separate adapters, and although i don't see them at that site they're usually $100 IIRC

I use Kurtz... pretty low maintenance, manageable initial out of pocket, doesnt take up any space in my garage, good availability to perform service, only needs a beer or 2 for regular lubrication.![]()

Don't have a tire changer because I am cheap but also because I would hate to store something that big for occasional use
Once the wheel is off my 2x4 bead breaker and Irons and I am really done in under 10 minutes
Yes I do MAR the rim but I get over it

Now I'm thinking of using the one for car tires that has the motorcycle adapters. I'd get double the use out of it. It would be for personal use.
I've heard No Mar tire changers are nice models that are equal to or a step below the Coats models. I Have my brother change my tires with his commercial level changer.

how often do you change car tires? i know for my use i thought the same thing but only change my care tires every 30-60k and still didn't have a way to balance them. plus a lot of shops pricing makes it so. however for $100 more or whatever it sorta makes sense
if you're not planning on doing a lot of tire changes this setup makes a lot of sense.
my $.02
Summer tires and winter tires x two vehicles. Cheapest tire changing I found is $60 for four tires by appointment only and it takes all day. Very inconvenient. Changer would pay for itself pretty quick.
Would a static balance work good for a car? I do it for my bikes and it works well.
makes sense definitely if you do that.
i've never used one but the reviews indicate something like this might work
By that math the tire changer will pay for itself in about 4 years if there is free shipping. Wouldn't really consider that quick, but justifyable if you really want it. An extra set of rims for each vehicle would also be about $400/vehicle and alot easier than monkeying around with a tire changer.
Maybe I really should find another set of rims for the cars. I have spoons for the bikes, and putting on new tires is easy. It's when I have to deal with a used tire that is rock solid.... drives me nuts
The best deal I've found on a motorcycle tire change is here...
...and even with the drive to get there!!!
Probably not such a good deal if you live in CT though...!

I picked up an Atlas TC 221 and a static balancer. I picked it up at Greg Smith Equipment in NH. Iv'e done cars, trucks, bikes, and ATVs on it with ease.
I had no problem with static balancing....
