Does anybody here use these? Do they really make a difference?

I use a BMC (same idea) all depends who ya ask...
99 R1 with BRR front among other things

I've used K & N, but have no scientific mumble-jumble to back it up. I've heard great things about BMC though, and I plan on outfitting the 'zook with one this year...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I put a K&N filter, on my triumph and had it remapped for it and I notice a difference.
I dont know why I got fired, It's not like I did anything
I can say that Dynojet the same company affiliated with K/N says on their fuel injection mapping programs....
THAT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE between STOCK or K/N for a 929.
Probably depends on your bike and what filter is uses.

I WASTED my money on a K&N... no difference on my 929.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I won't waste the money for a K+N.

Just because it doesn't produce more power doesn't mean that it won't help the bike run better. And aren't they supposed to be pretty much indisposible? I don't think I'd call it a waste of money, except in Rich's case...![]()

as in Seinfeld ..... OK .......NEWMAN!
I have a K&N in my Yamaha 920, no difference in the whay it runs, the only advantage is that is it washable and reusabe with filter oil, there is one avalable for my SV, but most SVers who have tried it have gone back to stock filter. Although I have heard that K&N has redesigned their SV filter.
I'd say that you have to talk with someone who has same bike as you to find out the real answer

i put a K+N on my bike and noticed a difference, i dont what would show on a dyno, but the throttle definitely felt a little more *snappy*, but i cant definitely say it was from teh filter, cause i also changed the oil, and plugs and adjusted the valves. sooo.. draw your own conclusions.

I'm told that BMC air filters will show gains in HP numbers, at least for my bike. Have you looked into those?

I haven't heard of BMC until this thread. Do they have a website where I can get some info??

I only heard of and bought the BMC because at the time K&N did not offer a filter for the R1 yet (even though it had been around for more than a year already!!) so I had a BMC imported from Europe with my Techtronics shifter....![]()
