Anyone use visors w/ tear-off posts? Not looking to litter up the track, just thinking about going that route in an attempt to lengthen out the lifespan of my face shields.
For those curious:
Reg Arai SAI shield goes for about 54 bucks
SAI Shield w/ posts goes for about 60 bucks, plus 14 for a 5pk of tear-offs.
Not sure it's worth the extra cost n hassle.

Hjc has some, maybe those are cheaper and might fit. Worth a look.
Having used them offroad, if some debris finds it's way in expect it to scratch. If water gets in, expect the distraction.

HJC shield isn't gonna fit my Arai Vector 2. If you mean the tear-offs themselves, I doubt it.

Taken in jest. No problem, and you're quite welcome. I should have come up Sunday too. I was outside around 10:00 a.m. and things were very quiet, slight breeze in just the right direction. I could just hear sportbikes going round the track in the distance. Aaaarrggggghhhhh too much to do around the house.
Unfortunately I only remember the parts that I actually understand, which is pretty limited...
I'm also pretty good at looking shit up.
Unclear if I'll make it up for the next round. Depends on family things. Hope to. We'll see.
I use them....nice not to have to clean the shield. And sometimes the tear off last all day depending on which track you are at!

An interesting article I found... http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/109491
I haven't used these before but I'd imagine anything that purposely introduces debris to the track would be banned? I can just imagine playing mario kart and slipping on the bananas...

I run tear offs, always have......
I'm not saying you would lol I just meant is that I am surprised that they are allowed at all at any level of competition. The article shows that even in F1 racing its creating issues/conflicts. I've seen them used in MotoGp and I am surprised that it hasn't caused any issues yet (that I know of), but I've only seen them really ripping them off on the straight away when there isn't any braking or turning being done. I could just imagine trail braking into turn 1 and my tire planting firmly onto one of these suckers...
Well, the benefit is if you have something obstructing your vision, the risk of that causing an accident could be higher than a tear-off on the track surface causing an accident.
Risk vs risk.

Couldn't you just glue/epoxy/plastic weld some posts onto your existing shield? Just thinking aloud, I've never seen tear-offs in person.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
