Riding palmer for the first time next month on an SV. What does everyone run for gearing there???
i rarely change my gearing. i run 14/44 almost everywhere. VIR i go up a tooth in the front which is really just the stock set up. id probably try that at NJMP as well although i did run it with my usual gearing with no issues
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

15/46 is where mine is now so im assuming i can leave it alone?

I enjoyed using 6th gear on the front "straight" with my stock 15/45 gearing. Yes, I was passed by bikes with much more power, but the gearing was fine.

I think all schoolchildren should be taught gearing. And computing compression ratio, while we're at it.

This. When it came to building my '69 El Camino small block, I had no idea how much I didn't know. I could get 10.0:1 compression with a thick head gasket and bad squish numbers, or a thin gasket and good squish -- so long as I had the right pistons. And even this is just the static side of the things, I'd need to plug in my cam numbers to get dynamic!
Haha this went way off topic but thanks guys Im gonna leave the sprockets alone for now.
