Suzuki Boulevard 1800 / M109R / VZR 1800. Is anyone familiar with these bikes? I've had my ZX9R for 12+ years now and still really enjoy riding it, but I took a 7 hour trip last week and was a bit sore when I got home. Maybe it's time to add another bike to the garage for longer cruises? I can't see myself on a true cruiser-type bike. Just not my style. But the Boulevard with café bars appears to be a good mix of a sporty bike and a cruiser. I like the looks of them.
I've never ridden one, or even sat on one for that matter. I've been poking around Craigslist just to get an idea of used prices. If I did this it would be used not new.
Anyone ever ridden one? Thoughts?
Sporty cruiser=Yamaha roadstar warrior. Owned one and loved it!
None of the sport tourers catch your eye? Ninja 1000, VFR, FJR, etc?
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
Yes the warrior was replaced but they were a raked out version and they didn't handle anywhere near as well as the warrior.

If I were looking for a sporty cruiser, hands down I'd be looking at an Indian Scout.

I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
IIRC - Reviews of the M109 always praised the addictive torque of its monster motor.
Friend had one and I rode it several times. I had a lot of fun on it it makes you feel like a real badass on it. It is an absolute monster in a straight line , handles well for a cruiser but no miracles in that department. Thing is, it's not that great for long trips stock, it has zero wind protection and less storage than most sport bikes unless you add bags. Also from what I've seen the used prices just always feel too high

I've driven an M109 quite a few times. They are un-reasonably fast and lay rubber like its nobody's business. However, they can't turn worth shit, so if you start to get a bit squirrely while laying that black patch on the pavement, its likely game over. I almost went right into a curb.
