Super Moto Heaven
Yeah, I know it's just a red KTM, but....SUPER MOTO![]()
74hp single!
Your park avenue leads to..
It’s nothing new, same as the current KTM 690 and Husky 701; it now comes in orange, white, and red. They are making Supermoto and Enduro versions of each.
I truly don't understand the business logic here. So now there's a third brand variant for which sales and dealer support will be mostly unavailable?

ZX-4RR, R1200GSW, 701 E/SM, Hyperstrada 821 (FS!)
Though the fundamental bike is the same they do have different components and materials used on each of the three variants. Haven't really looked to see if the components affect the price point very much, if at all, but in theory they could use the same base and equip each one slightly differently and sell at different price points. Think Ford, Mercury, Lincoln/Chevrolet, GMC, Buick/Honda, Acura/Toyota, Lexus/Nissan, Infinti etc. Same vehicles, different trim levels, different price points, different demographic within the target market.
The rumor mill suggests that both Husky and KTM are dropping the bike, and that GasGas will be the sole proprietor henceforward.
2023 KTM 890 Adventure R
From what I recall re their MX bikes. Gas gas is cheaper triple clamps, no mapping switch, cheaper rims, no hour meter.
Husky has composite subframe which tends to break in crashes, 10mm lower forks, and a choked off air box.
I thought I read for the SM they’d all be the same. I’ll take mine in red if I were in the market.
Gas Gas 701 SM variant comes with the cast wheels where the Husky and KTM versions have spoked. Various years of Husky vs. KTM, Husky had the second counter balancer in the motor but KTM didn't until the next year, KTM had some electronic doodads that the Husky didn't. Guess the specs need to be checked to make sure what you are getting for your $ for whatever year/color you are looking at.
I bought the Husky because I don't want to ride an orange bike. I liked the base concept of the 701/690 SM variant just liked the appearance of the Husky more. The new Gas Gas is a good looking bike in the Red/White color scheme with the non-spoked wheels.
Didn’t realize cast vs spoked wheels.
that platform is pretty fun on pavement in sumo trim

Just saw on YouTube Kaplan cycles is now a Gas Gas dealer. Someone asked if he’s getting the SM and he said yes.
