shoei gt air helmet

Anyone got one? Your thoughts? Is it heavy because of the integrated visor? How's the wind noise? Any complaints? Worth 700?

I've seen and held one but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I don't think it is much heavier because of the sunshield, but it's just a little bit of a safety concern because they can't reinforce it as much in that area. Just to put it in perspective weight wise....

X-Twelve - 3.72 lbs
RF1100 - 3.54 lbs
GT Air - 3.62 lbs
So I really don't see weight being an issue.

Can't comment on wind noise, but don't really see it being an issue.

Biggest complaint i've heard so far is that it's a $700 helmet without a SNELL rating. That's a big issue for a lot of people.

Make sure to try one on before buying, especially if the visor is the selling point for you. I heard a lot of people that didnt like visors in helmets (mostly other brands than shoei) because the visor sits so far off your eyes, that sun can get in below the visor and be almost as bad as no protection whatsoever. Shoei's have been far better, but its still not as foolproof as wearing sunglasses or something.
