I bought a DR200 for my son and I need to replace the tires.
He will be riding this on-road and I can't seem to find tires that are appropriate for this application in the size needed.
Any ideas?

actually, I think avons are on the atk, and kendas are on the 225....
I cant remember which tire model, Ill look when I get home. The kendas and the avons are both quite similar.
I like them a lot. I havent pushed them very hard, but they are adequate in the dirt, and fine on the street. I even had em out in the snow sunday!
That is a Kenda K761 in the picture. I have a K-761 on the rear of my DR650, and it is a very good street biased tire. I run a K-270 on the front. This gives me excellent street handling, a smooth ride, and long wear. In the dirt, the 270 works well, but the 761 is pretty much useless. If I owned a DR200, I would mount K-270's on both ends. They are inexpensive, grip well, ride quietly, and last a long time, especially on a light weight, low-power bike like the DR200.
Check out Shinko 705s, I just put them on my KLR. Great price from BikeBandit, especially with AMA membership 10% off.

And don't believe everything you think.
I'm running the same Shinko's, like them a lot. Dirt cheap too.

They don't come in the proper size for the DR.
I have been looking for 2 weeks...I can't find a single think short of a straight up dirt knobbie.

Ive been thinking about going with the Metzler ME880 for my NX650. They don't make a rear tire that will fit, but they do have a front that will fit the rear rim.
It is a road tire, not sure if you are looking for a dual sport.

IRC GP-110 ?
Looks like a 90 street/10 dirt tire.
Other brands to check out are Duro and Kenda. As to the right size, I'd measure the clearances, if it wuz me.
When looking for tires for the KLR I searched the KLR forums, found discussions of Metzler Tourance ($$$$$), Kenda (didn't like the trend), and Shinko 705, just right.
One approach might be to join that DR forum and ask your question there, but maybe you are already doing that.
I found that the bike is *SO MUCH* better on the road with the Shinkos compared to the knobbies.

haha, looks it, doesn't it? But no, arrow is correct, it's the opposite of the rear because of braking traction rather than forward propulsion traction, I think, anyway, unless the arrow is molded in backwards.
... but I'm gonna go look again. And yeah, gotta figure out the wheel weights, the inner part of the rim is very narrow, but will be better than running them on the outside.
