Anybody know of motorcycle inspection stations near Seabrook? Google brings up some stations saying they are motorcycle inspection stations, but when I call the places are saying no, they are for cars or don't do inspections at all. Sea coast Harley only does Harley's, but they said try Honda Depot, which is right down the street from them but is closed on Mondays. Was hoping to get it done today, but if I have to I will wait for tomorrow and call this Honda Depot place with my fingers crossed they can do an inspection on a Ninja

I am pretty sure (but not 100%) Great Bay would help you out.
I go to an independent guy in Epping NH. Mostly for the entertainment; I've discovered that the phrase "So, how 'bout that 'bama guy." is good for 10-20 minutes of quality entertainment. But he seems to inspect almost anything with wheels.
That said, I was rolling through Derry on my way to Seacoast the other day and realized he's way over charging me. Everyone over in Derry seems to charge $20. Even Seacoast only charges $20.
Edit: It's bullshit that HD won't do a simple state sticker for you. There is nothing brand unique about it. I am pretty sure Rochester HD will give you a sticker. Dunno what Seacoast's problem is.

"You don’t need to tell me the horror story about your uncle’s buddy who wiped out his chopper while drag racing at some hooligan rally. That just makes me wish I were talking to your uncle’s buddy instead of you. He sounds pretty cool."

NFR Custom Cycles.. At least that's what google says its called. I swear he's named the business a couple different things. He does autobody and general repair too. Metal garage on the side of 125, dirt driveway with a gate. USMC and POW flags hanging over the sign.
I've never made an appointment. Exhaust is never my problem. Tire and brake wear are. He seems to think I always need brakes. Probably trying to sell me something. I did buy a rear tire from him once.

Whoa whoa whoa...seacoast said they only do HDs?
Someone from the service dept ACTUALLY said that to you?
If that's true.....my bosses would be very interested to hear that.
Great bay
Depot Honda
Seacoast HD
And possibly even seacoast choppers are all inspection stations.
Come see me at HD shop of Rochester and ill put a sticker on it.(if it passes of course)

As an fyi. Shops can charge whatever they want for stickers, hence the large fluctuations in price.

Yes, 3 people actually told me that! The first woman I spoke to on the phone said only HD's and transferred me to service, where the phone rang endlessly before being picked up by another woman, who again said only HD's. She then again transferred me to service where the gentleman said they will only do inspections on HD's and I should try Depot Honda for my Ninja to get it inspected. Disappointed that they will not do a service such as inspection for a non-HD bike. I could understand service for the bike because of differences between bikes and brands, but I can't understand the inspection and personally think it's wrong of the dealership to refuse it.
i was going to call Depot Honda Tuesday since they are closed on Mondays. Website said it sells/services Kawis so I am hoping to be able to get a spare key made while I am there. If they are unable to help then I will definitely head up to Rochester HD and give you my business since you are willing to help!

interesting. the 2 females that answered the phone are the call center. i expect them to be unimformed. but the fact that someone in service said NO is appaulling. ive personally stickered HDs, kawis, hondas, bmws and even a couple can ams.
ill be sure to let the powers that be at work know that SHD is doing this and maybe they have some insight as to why.
the only excuse i can come up with is that only the techs down there have theyre NH state inspection license. thats not true at my shop. my boss, myself and the other service writer all have our licenses so we can do them quickly without having to schedule appointments and bog down my service dept with inspections. i personally write more stickers than everyone else in the service dept combined.

If that were the case, I would expect the excuse to be "I'm sorry, we're too busy right now. You can schedule or ..." Not "I'm sorry, your bike is the wrong brand."
Dumb. Shit like this gets around. Reputations get made.
Since the subject has been broached, I have never really been a fan of Seacoast HD. My father bought his FLHS from them way back when. His opinion is that something substantial changed in the mid 90's when HD went uber-mega corporate. Sometime before they rebuilt/moved. I was in there with him more than once where he nearly had to argue with the parts guy to get what he needed. They dumped their old staff and re-staffed with people that barely knew bikes. At one point they just about refused to work on his bike as it was too old. Their attitude was very plain; trade up to a new bike or GTFO. It was an '89.. not even like it was an antique or anything.
April, I'd take your Ninja someplace else either way. There has to be a number of decent indi shops around there that will do a sticker without appointment or attitude.
Ox. Hats off to you and Rochester HD for not being dumb. I think your shop has a much better reputation.
FYI, most bike dealers do them and most are closed on Sundays and Mondays. It doesn't hurt to call for an appointment, but usually you can ride right in. An inspection takes every guy/dealership I've ever gone to about a minute and a half, including writing the sticker. It also doesn't hurt to get friendly with the staff at your local dealership, as you never know when you might need their assistance for (service, tires, gear, questions, etc) and it helps to be on good terms with them.

I'm not sure when SHD changed hands. Ironically, one of my techs is the son of the original SHD owner when it was in kittery.
There was a time when HD dealers didn't care about people. They didn't have to. If they pissed you off enough for you to walk away, there was 6 people behind you willing to take AND eat the shit you wouldn't and gladly pay whatever price to order their shiny new HD and wait 9 months for it to arrive.
Obviously it all has changed now. I can't really speak ill of the mothership (SHD) as their name is on the top of my paycheck, but it is quite the machine down there.
While we are under the SHD umbrella, as well as boston HD, we are able to run things differently while keeping the big wigs happy. Our slogan is "your hometown HD dealer " and that's how we like to run it.
I can and will write a sticker for any bike. No appt needed. Open Sundays until 5![]()

I was able to get my sticker from Depot Honda without issues yesterday afternoon. I was in and out in no time and was also able to order a new key so I have a spare. It worked out well and I was able to get in 25 miles of riding too.

But her location now shows Ashburnham, MA.![]()
I've had other HD shops tell me they only inspect HD's. Didn't bother me too much. I'd hate having to walk in to one of those flippin' places...
I do live in MA, but the bike paperwork is all under the BF's name and he lives in NH. It was easier to register there than switch over paperwork and such. Long story, but for now stays in his name which means all through where he lives in NH.

I'm not one to resurrect old threads but after doing some homework on where to go to get my new 600rr inspected I came across this thread. I decided to give Horne's Auto Body a go, and it was a solid experience. Great guy...and he gets you done in no time. Easy and straightforward inspection...definitely recommend him for motorcycle inspections.
