Judging from the seat/tank/ergos/pipe, this looks to be framed more as a street bike than the 790/890R.
That being said, I can't imagine they would keep the 790, 890, and 990 in production at the same time.

I hope they make a tribute 990 adventure Dakar edition from this.
I imagine Euro 6/7 is why they keep increasing the bore of the middleweight bikes; you need more displacement to make similar power while decreasing emissions. I believe the rumor is that the 1290 is going to be a 1390 soon, so they're moving the top performers up as well.

It's only a 947cc, and HP is up from the 890R by only 2. Torque up by 3. Not big numbers for a significantly changed engine.
And the suspension is more of a "non-R" model spec. Just rebound/preload out back. Something tells me they'll have an R version late next year with all the better stuff, and more HP.

I believe the plan is to axe the 890 Duke and go with 790 and 990 going forward.
Curious to see if they put the 990 in the adventure, keep the 890, or switch back to 790
