    Kids riding gear

The genetic experiment is showing signs of wanting to climb up a ladder and perch atop the GSA this spring for a ride.

I'm looking for gear for a 9 year old. Specifically a helmet, but things like gloves, pants, jacket would be good too.

No idea where to start, and don't want a dirtbike helmet for her.

I don't even know if kid sizes gear is a thing in the US.

Are there shops around here that carry kid sizes?

    Re: Kids riding gear

What I've found looking for kids street gear is that it's extremely sparse, and seems to primarily be available online only.

That said, there's a Cycle Gear (i.e. Revzilla) in the Manchester mall. Apparently you can have them order gear into the store to try on without buying it.

Freedom Cycle also carries kids stuff but I believe it's all dirt bike related. Could also call Full Throttle or Cycle Design.

Looks like Cycle Gear is the first stop. Guess they don't list them as child sizes, just XS-3XS on helmets. Thanks!

Haven't looked or found anything youth road specific for most gear yet, but for a helmet just measure head circumference and go from there to start. Then check size charts.
Found that an XS fit pretty well on my 6 year old last year, with just a little wiggle room. This year it is just about right.

My kid has an HJC CL-Y helmet
He initially didn’t like to wear it when I got it about a year ago, but a few Paw Patrol stickers changed that

Funny how that works. My boy hated his first couple (off road) helmets. We let him sticker them up and put those mohawk things on 'em. Eezie peezie!

Measure the circumference of her head to translate to helmet size. Someone may have something suitable.

Let me know if you hit Cycle Gear at the Mall Of NH! If I can swing it, I'll shoot down and grab lunch and a drink with ya. Checking shit out at a moto shop is never a bad thing anyway...
