whenever we go down to NJMP and buy gas in NJ, i know they are a stickler for color coding of containers.
i just dont know if they will fillup an orange container with gas.

The big VP jugs are no longer considered fuel cans, in MA. They must be referred to as "jugs" when being sold now. It has something to do with the jug not being properly vented to meet the new fuel can requirements.
I was told this by Cliffs cycle when I was buying my Orange VP jug. He also told me that the gas station can, and is suppose to, refuse to fill it.

Ive never run into a problem filling due to colors. I have a few that i fill once or twice a week. They are clear however but ive put all sorts of different types of gas depending on my needs for the week. I havent filled in dirty jersey in a long long time though and wouldnt want to chance it.
I saw those vp cans on cl and am slightly tempted but flamingo motorsports in palmer sells vp clones for 25-30 bucks and they work really well. Those ones look really dirty and may need a new gasket kit which arent the easiest to find.
thanks for the info...down in Jersey, tis all full serve and you cannot buy gas without the correct container
yes, the one posted yesterday on cl....20bucks.......i'm passing, i'll buy the correct and updated one, should last me a long time.....

I got 2 VP cans for methanol for my car at Columbus oil in Swansea and LOVE them
I was considering buying another for normal gas, The whip is nice, and they are easy to open to fill. My spring loaded, vented, locking, safety catch red gas can is a fucking piece of shit.

I brought along a couple empty blue "VP C12" 5-gallon cans with me to NJMP last weekend & bought 10.0 gallons of Sunoco Supreme 112 Octane Leaded 2-stroke fuel for $99.90. Originally, they wanted to try & fill one of their own red 5-gallon cans first, but the transfer into my metal can with a single-opening convinced them to just pump directly into my cans. $49.95/can of 112 race gas is much better than $70/can for Sunoco Supreme 112 at NHMS, or $70 for C12. I guess it depends on how your luck goes, whether or not they will pump gas into anything other than a red can in NJ.
On the other hand, I had empty red & blue 5-gallon jugs last year and the Diesel station in town refused to pump Diesel fuel in any can that wasn't Yellow.
new jersey told me that my blue fuel jug was broken and that she couldnt fill it it up. wouldnt even tell me that because it wasnt red.
