Can anyone tell me what the dimensions are for the figure 8 test either at the RMV or the MSF course? I've heard conflicting info. I want to practice beforehand.
I believe it's 2x2 parking spaces.
See what I mean about conflicting info? Lol
Aren't they painted on the ground? You might be best served to go see for yourself.
There are a few current or former MSF Rider Coaches on here... hopefully one of us has access to their course layout diagrams.
I think it's 20x40... If you don't get an answer I'll see if I can find my old docs when I get home tonight.

That's the hardest part of the msf course.
Just run wide and take the points. As long as you don't crash and do well on everything else, you'll still pass.

Thanks to all!
I'm no coach, but that is the easiest part of the test with a few pointers. Really turn your head to lead you into the turn, move to the outside of the seat, keep the revs up off idle, and use the clutch friction zone to change speed. Use the rear brake if you need it, leaving off the front gives you better throttle control at very slow speeds. I was told to go do a track day after my test, guess I was trying too hard.
