Any advice on cards for this thing? Anyone know if these are picky about cards or speed or anything?
I have a 2GB I'll borrow from my old GPS for a while. But I'd like to get something bigger.
i use a 32gb sandisk, works great
making a make shift rear mount will test today (other then the swing arm)
Do you guys know what 'class' your cards are, or does it not matter? Looks like reasonably priced 32GB 'class 2' cards are pretty easy to come by. 'Class 4' show up on special every now and then. Worth waiting for the class 4's? Or just go get something.
I know nothing about cards. sandisk always worked well. jusr sticking with it. go to contour.com
i think they will tell prefered cards. some have issues
What did you have to do to make the GoPro suction cup mount work?
Google has yet to point me to a 'preferred' card list. Although I did finally find the 'support' link at the bottom of the contour.com website. That led me to this. Doesn't say much. "Any card up to class 10."
I'm going to assume a quality, 1st tier brand card is going to be fine.
Class 2 => 2MB/s => 16Mbits/s.. which is probably plenty.
I just bought this on Amazon as well. Caught someone on another board posting the promo code and such. Just FYI to you all, the code still works as of about 15 minutes ago. $89 with next day shipping!
Plan on using this one as a helmet cam, and maybe switch at times for a rear mount. I already have a GoPro that I use for forward mounting. This season should be fun!
i will post it later for you, but you can also do this

got my cam just now!! Thank you Tom5796!!
I have an 8GB card lying around, that should do.
Now...jtryz ...am not sure if you remember, we met in one of the Thursday night poses ...do you have any clue if this can be easily 'front' mounted (on the handlebar) on a streetfighter? I did not open the package yet to look at their mounts.
just bought this. $89 code still works. free 1 day shipping. should be here wed. thanks guys. i wasnt really in the market for one, but at 50+% off i couldnt pass it up. Xmas gift to myself
^^ what he said. I just bought one too. can't wait to use it skiing this year!!
then on the bike in the summer.
Deleted...just noticed someone else posted the promo code earlier today.
i do remember... Hows the bike running?
You can mount it on your bars but the mounts that come with it are pretty basic. I used the 360 turning mount to make my Gopro/contour connection and the other will be good for a helmet cam.
you will nee to get this

Or just get creative.
I am going to post all my mounting areas on my 675 to give some folks ideas.....
A coworker has the suction cup mount (second link). Bombproof. The aluminium bracket that attaches directly to the camera is beefy and the rest is RAM (can be used with anything else RAM as well).
There's plastic versions of the camera-attachment piece that aren't nearly as sturdy - he returned one of them.
Those suction cups r way powerful. i have had mine at some pretty dumb speeds and sufaces. no issues
I didn't have that good of luck with the contour suction cup mount, which is the reason I asked about the GoPro one. Mine broke at the base.. well it's cracked at the base where the arm is molded to the suction part. Either I got a shitty one, or they don't hold up quite as well to the extremes of offroad riding
