I used to ride into work a lot more often, but now I commute in with my wife so the cage makes more sense most days.
I'm the yellow speed triple that used to park by the silverline stop on seaport blvd, across from the courthouse. They made that parking illegal, so i need to find a new spot for the 5th time in 6 years. Very aggravating. Before last year I was rocking a first-gen naked blue SV.
I think this is my first post here. Hi all!
i want to start commuting to school, anyone know about parking near the boston commons for bikes? i've seen some in the garages, but the signs at the garages say no motorcycles?
Yeah most garages don't want motorcycles... which school?
There's plenty of parking out by my regular parking spot. It's by the park plaza hotel, by legals seafoods. Tons of bikes and scooters park out there.. For me it's still a walk to my office (half a mile).. so when I ride in I like to try to get closer![]()
You can also hang out all day at the spots... a guy on a CBR 600 pulled out and gave me his spot that had 4 hours on it, he told me he was out of change but noted that the Duck was out of time so I hit him up.

Ritz Carlton Garage. Entrance is on Boylston right past Tremont. Manager is Franklin (617) 574-7253. They have a designated motorcycle area.
Yep that is the corner.
As to the Emmo Question that's easy, right behind Sweetwater Cafe all day no problem. On the subject of saving money their beer special is Rolling Rock, at $2.50 a pop -- which I have always liked even though they switched the water source a few years back.
And oh, whatever you do and wherever you park be mindful of the street cleaning you may get lucky sometimes they just leave the bikes alone or you could wind up like this here, I love the "better go tell your mother!" piece:

I reverse commute out of Boston, which is pretty reasonable traffic-wise.

Im LOVING my morning ride down Memorial, its GLORIOUS. I do, however, HATE the metal grate bridge. When its damp, I feel like I might die.
Nice ride in today from the south and not a cloud anywhere so the ride home should take about three hours if I do it right![]()

I just started working at 260 Franklin Street. Is there any place to park around there? I saw a few bikes on the corner of High and Oliver a few times.
That's a safe corner and probably the closest to where you are. The bikes are there every day.
I'm right by the Custom House and every bike I've seen has been getting ticketed for the past week or so. The meter maids just rotated their routes and the new guy tickets everything he can.
Do you guys know anything about Albany St. (or around there) parking for bikes? I'm going to be headed to grad school at BU Medical Center starting this fall, and I would love to be able to ride some days!
I know the school runs a garage with motorcycle spots/permits, but it's still damned expensive. Still, maybe more reasonable than taking the commuter rail or C&J bus from Newburyport every day, which I will probably have to do in the winter....

How about on Pearl Street? I just saw about 4 or 5 bikes parked there today. I didn't have time to stop and check the signs. Didn't see any tickets or meters though. Mostly cruisers but one red/black CBR.
Pearl street is good right next to 125 High (right off the surface artery) those bikes sit there all day with no trouble. You can also park around the corner from there (right onto high street) in front of International place (across from the dunkins) there are two or three bikes there everyday.
I've parked at (1) the High St. spot (between Oliver and Batterymarch) and (2) both Pearl Street spots -- the one close to Equinox (Triumph, R6, etc. usually there) and across the street from Viga at 125 High (cruisers and the Red/Black CBR1000RR, which belongs to a friend of "Eddie" here on NESR) -- about 15 times this year without a cover and have not received a single ticket. Incidentally, I'm on the Grey/Black CBR 1000RR in my profile.

This is what I miss most commuting on the bike. Fortunately I've found my travel mug fits in my tank bag, doesn't leak, and keeps the coffee warm for the ride in. Work coffee sucks so bad that it just isn't an option. Wish I could sip while underway though.
Do camelbacks hold up to hot coffee?
