Sportbiketrackgear.com has a really good sale on Michelin motorcycle tires right now. I have bought from them before and this is the lowest prices I have seen on them right now. It is practically a steal. Shipping is FREE to the lower 48 US states. You can go to their website for the deal. They have sale prices on:
Michelin Power Pure from $120.99
Michelin Pilot Power from $83.99
Michelin Pilot Power 2CT from $95.99
Michelin Pilot Slick from $269.95
Michelin DOT Power Race from $132.95
Michelin Pilot Road from $121.95
Michelin Pilot Road 2CT from $113.99
Michelin Pilot Sport HPX from $132.95
Michelin Power One 2CT from $132.99
Michelin had a 25% price decrease for 2010 on radial tires. STG's prices are now in line with every other on-line retailer supplied by PU or WPS.

say what?!
It's good to know that the price reduction is across the board. I'm not shopping for tires but people can buy from their favorite dealer of choice.
Michelin did not go with the annual price increase, but instead wanted to increase market share. These prices will be in effect until the fall.
Dealers make no money fighting prices like that. They hope to make it up on mounting and balancing, and the rider picking up and oil and filter or such while they are there.

KAWASAKI RULES WOOOOO!
STG is a distributor that sells direct, so he already has an advantage by missing one level of margin. We all buy our tires out of the same warehouse in Chicago. The Pure just came out, so it can't be older than a month or two. The Pilot Power and Road lines are turned over so frequently that no way they are older than 6 months.
If an on-line retailer took advantage of every program, and stacked distributor discounts ( like PU can offer) they can get tires cheap. BUT - in the end they are still only making a few bucks on tires PLUS they all ship for free now. It's a lot of work for a 5% or less margin.
Also, some on-line retailers don't even have the tire but will have the distributor drop-ship for them. Not a bad way to make 5% if you are just shuffling paper. Then you work on volume.
