Just curious if anyone on this site is interested in or rides the old superbikes of yesteryear? I have a small collection which I still enjoy riding. I have a GS1000 1980, a GS750 e 1081, aGS750ED 1983 aGS1100ED 1983 and a 97 gsxr1100, all ridden regularly except the gsxr1100 it's for sale
I am more intested in the smaller old classics CB400's and such.

I have an '81 KZ-1100 shaft drive and an '82 KZ-1000 LTD. Both have Kerkers!
Both bikes are in need of a good refreshing. When I get around to it and I have the free cash, I want to make the 1000 LTD into a cafe racer.

I just picked up a 75 CB750 in need of a lot of love for $75. I plan on making a cafe racer out of it. See the for sale/wanted forum as i am in need of some parts. There has to be someone on this website with a 70 - 75 CB750 parts bike! Once i get it all sorted out i would love to go for a vintage ride.
do you like them because they're fun?
or do you like them because that's what you started on?
for me, I loved them when I had them, but once I got on a newer bike, it was easier to forget them:
oh yeah, and old bikes were cheap, and I was poor, which is why I had them:
1989 Kawasaki Ninja 600R
1979 Kawsaki KD125
1972 Honda XL-250

I like them because I find them fun , plus the 83 gs 750ed was my first new street bike .Bought it brand new in April of 83,saved my money all fall and winter as a bag boy in a grocery store my sr yr of high school and paid cash in the spring. takes a while to save $2855.00 at $3.35 pr hr I still have that same bike.I also had a GPZ 750e turbo back about 5-6 yrs ago that I restored, sold it in the Jerry Wood auction in Deland Fla. .Cool bike but dangerous,Had 113 dyno'd rear wheel hp at Allsport in Orange. Not to shabby for a bone stock 1985 750 .The bike was a slug until it got up to about 5500 rpm then it would have full boost and immediately jump from 5500 to 9500 rpm . If you were just cruseing around and say you came into a corner at 3700 rpm and had to down shift rpms would start coming up and so would boost if it was 2 gears you needed you would put it over 5500 and any throttle it would go to redline .I rode it 1 summer then 2nd summer I put a pipe on it and it helped alot but it lost a ton on the topend
1980 Honda 750F bought new, $2800, in cellar warm dry. Little elbow grease and cash she'll be ready. I remember last ride several yrs ago after I'd ridden my 1000F for a couple yrs. Really felt naked, guess we were naked but didn't know it.
Murphy says you'll catch up to Granma just before the Twisty sign.
I have been collecting parts for a 1973 Suzuki GT750 Waterbuffalo. My first street bike was a suzuki T500 and my brothers was a suzuki x6 hustler. Then a couple of RD 350'S to make some noise.
