I'm looking for the measurements of the 2006 R6 Akrapovic megaphone exhaust. What I'm trying to do is see if the megaphone slipon will fit on my stock gsxr 750 headers. I can't seem to find what the inside/outside diameter, length, etc. is. How hard is it to weld titanium? Can a muffler shop do it? Maybe I could have an adapter made.
Here is the stock gsxr 750 pipe:
And this is what I want to fit on:

Well i should probably be one of the last people to give advice on welding but I dont think Titanium is easy to weld. Also pipe welding is one of the harder types of welding from what I understand by talking to people that know a bit about it. I dont know if a muffler shop could handle it. Id say look and ask around and maybe you can find someone that really knows their stuff.
It's strange that they don't have the megaphone for the Gixxer. Have you looked into the Micron megaphone? Looks much better once it's mounted on a bike than it does from the micron site, but is similar to the Akrapovic you posted. I don't know if you're a member of gsxr.com. but check out this thread.

The Scorpion and Micron's area good looking pipes, but if you wan't a slick lookin' exhaust for that bike check out TaylorMade. Unbelievable.
I like the look of the taylor the best but I dislike the sound.
Ah soo you're gonna take the plunge and get an exhaust? I'm still holding back, but if I do go through with it, it's probably going to be a Taylormade
from what they are saying on gixxer.com, it'd be pretty hard to do what I want to do. It's possible but I'd probably need a custom mid-pipe made. I'll reasearch it some more.
is there a particular reason why you want to do this?
I just like the look of the megaphone for the R6. It's a shame they don't make it for the gsxr.
Maybe I will stick with stock and just remove the SET valve. I hear that makes it a little louder and deeper.
yes I read the same on the gixxer forum
I think I have a FMF megaphone in the mags that looks pretty good on a gixxa

Looks like Akra is finally making the megaphone for my bike. Now I don't have to worry about making something fit and it sounding like crap.
The guy I sold my wadded R6 to has one of those Akra pipes on it for track duty. He says the noise level is fully obnoxious.

Like how I'm going to wait for KillBill to buy a Taylormade Exhaust for his bike so I can see/hear it.
