In case you did not know, wera classifieds has a new website: http://weraclassifieds.com
Here is the sticky about it: http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=282494
Apparently they are now charging a small and nominal fee to post in the new site. It appears that posting new for sale threads in the old site is no longer allowed.
The new site has a pretty cool layout thought.
I think they are making a mistake buy charging to post ads.

Yeahh....I believe that traffic on the new site is going to go down in light of the posting fees. Someone else also pointed out that one could just start a new screename from scratch and ditch a potentially bad reputation associated with a 13x nick.

Well yeah... when have you ever liked spending money for something that used to be free? That being said, the site has to make money somehow and I'm sure the sponsors aren't cutting it. Any of the big sites like gixxer.com 600rr.net etc all charge money for postings.

Gixxer.com does it wrong...
They charge you $15 for the year for access to the classifieds, so if you want to buy, you have to pay the $15 as well.
In my opinion, I'm ok with paying $5 per ad to list something for sale. Perhaps they could do a pricing system, where gear is only $1 or $2, but big stuff stays $5. These sites have to make money some way.
If you charge every member $2 a year, you'll lose a lot of people.
so they could figure out a normal domain for the classifieds but not the normal site?
That aside, WERA is a really niche market for people looking to sell race bikes/gear/etc. I don't see a big deal in supporting them in the process of trying to sell something.
Hey guys, just an update of my opinion on this...the posting fees are fair. However, I have to admit that I like some features on the old site (forum) better.
In the new format, only the person posting the add is allowed to post pictures...there does not seem to be a discussion (a la forum) about a given product. There is no private messaging (except via e-mail).
I know this hurt certain vendors that had already established a reputation on the old site (forum).
Still, it is great to have the weraclassifieds.com site as a resort. I just wish they would bring some of the features in the old site back and/or have a way to link the old threads to the new site. I also wish that they did not delete the for sale threads in the old site (perhaps they should just have closed them instead).
In any event, the above is just my rumble opinion.
I have used it and .99c to post an ad and its pretty good layout so it was worth it and was pretty easy to use....
