So I thinks to myself, "Myself, you'all have got this fancy motorized bicycle with lumpy tires. You should saddle the thing once in a while"
Riding by Pisgah state park yesterday on the SV. It is about 20--25 minutes from my house on 119. Saw quite a few dirty bikes, quads and trailers at the trailhead.
Did a quick search, turns out it is the largest state park in NH. And OHRV friendly! 21 square miles.
Not a ton of trails, but worth exploring, that's for sure.

Log time ago. Iirc not as tough as Clough , good for newer riders, still a good ride.
It's been quite a few years, but I have been on my quad. I remember the trails being limited, and mostly dirt roads at the time. I think there was a powerline section that was a bit tricky and steep as well. If it was in my backyard, I'd explore it some more...for a 2.5+ hour drive, I'd go to clough instead

I ride this area most weekends as it is connected to the campground we are seasonal at. If anyone wishes to ride with a quad you are more than welcome to come up and I'll show you around. There is more than a days worth of riding from there if you know were to go.
Also in the area is LMFT which has a lot more technical trails, there is a much larger presence of dirt bikes there.

If you want a decently technical spot to ride in the same area as Pisgah State Park, check out Little Monadnock Family Trails. It's about a 5-10 minute drive from Pisgah but it has a ton of trails that are a lot more technical. I went Jeeping up there a few weeks ago and some of it looked way beyond the capabilities of my rig, but a dirt bike should be alright. There's a section of power lines that is supposed to be very challenging. There's also a sand pit for screwing around in. They're even cutting new trails (some extremely challenging, i.e. 4 foot rock face climbs).
Never been into Pisgah myself, but I'll have to give it a go with the Jeep.

I tried a trip to Little Monadnock Family Trails and all we were able to find is a bunch of trails that zipped up a set of powerlines. Is there a map available of the trail system out there? The trails on the power lines were ok but nothing too exciting.

They do, but apparently they recently took their website down. From what I've been told, you can also buy a trail map at the local powersports shops around the Keene area.

I've been to the LMFT section before. It was a fun half day trail system, but not really great. If Pisgah is smaller than that, I'd likely skip. Besides, LMFT is not even 15 minutes from my house.

Here is a map of the trails at Pisgah: http://www.nhstateparks.org/uploads/...Trails_Map.pdf
I haven't been there yet but as you can see, most of the trails are off limits to OHRVs. If you already have a NH OHRV sticker it's probably worth checking out but don't expect any challenging single track.

Clayton,
When you went to LMFT you had to miss most of the trails if you did this in a half day. I have been riding this area for the last 2 yrs and there are quite a few trails if you know where to go. If we went in the dry conditions I would not be able to keep up to you with my quad, but in the spring I would have to bring a lot of food to eat waiting for ya.
I have trail maps for anyone who wishes when I'm there.
