I put way too much thought into that setup as a pitbike... At one time Judd was advising against their setup for the E5, IIRC the smaller front sprocket causes the chain to eat the swingarm, have they changed that stance? Check KTM's parts fiche btw, they list shock springs that go right up into big BIG boy weight ranges...
yeah, the reg gas 50s have the same problem lunching swingarms. so stupid. def something to watch closely.
this build is for my 9 year old that’s not quite big enough for the 65 yet. he was pumped this morning when i surprised him.

the “sprockets” are hilariously small. call them pinion gears.

forgot to answer your question on changing stance… not sure but i bought the big wheel kit for the E5 with Gen3 swinger.

So what, will this be three years in a row as a top 3 finalist for father of the year?!?
Hope your kids realize how lucky they are!!![]()
thnx, man ... we def spoil them, but they're both good humans (and students), and they're appreciative. if they keep it up, the cool shit floats into the stableon the flip side, i do pretty well with bike sell/buy since we take such good care of everything.
i can't wait to see this one built, should be a blast. prob won't get it's first proper ride until we kick off the season in April down in NC again.

Judd Racing's shipping department is no joke. ordered the BW kit Sat the 13th, shipped from the UK Mon the 15th, arrived in MA on the 16th. wild.
i'll take some pics but the swingarm is a work of CNC art and the wheel kit is full Talon. very nice. only hiccup is the 46T rear sprocket, i need a 50T but will try a 49T from Nihilo first. the larger wheels eat some power.

I was floored how quick I could get stuff from the UK and Europe putting my Buell together, often faster than some of the traditional options here in the US.
Cool project! I wonder how he will like it?
mind blowing, and i've ordered from overseas quite a bit. DHL can be hit or miss but past few deliveries from them have been great.
so far he loves it, rode circles in the garage when i surprised him then ripped it out front until his hands frozehe's wanted one bad ever since we were on the mini track at Crow Hill and a kid was flying on one. then when we rented 508 for a family day and met a dad that had the GG flavor and gave us the run down. i'll have to get a small Honda generator to keep in the van for charging during breaks. annoying but hope it works out. it's smooth and QUICK!
we do need to get back to working on gears but with all the sports they do outside of moto, i'd rather he just has as much fun as possible this season. we'll keep it until he fits the 65.

some pics, prob bring the bike inside tomorrow to start tearing down, tire mount first.
full kit, i also bought a bearing and bushing kit so i don't have to fish the old bushings out. swinger already has new bearings installed
so pretty...
love that the wheel set comes with spacers as well. i'll swap the discs over but bought new hardware.

First pic makes everything look like normal dirt bike parts. The hand in the rest of the images is cool as it shows how small this stuff really is.
So cool that you are getting your kids into this stuff. I would have been stoked at that age to have anything remotely as nice as the stuff you provide.
That swingarm looks better than what I remember, Judd must have improved the design since I last poked at this, sweet!
amen. i didn't acquire a new dirt bike until i was in my 30's! always used then fix 'em up.
it's beautiful and light. will have to compare weights.
----
project stalled while i was waiting on some small parts like genuine KTM sprocket bolts + nuts. the ProX bolt kit i bought didn't fit.

Any updates?
I sold the YZ and am looking for some build threads to feed the itch in the brain. YouTube shorts and Instagram accounts only take me so far
Got to look at the SX-E5 again in person today... I still see a mini-supermoto sitting there...![]()
yeah, had to pause for a while, got too busy ... but it's together for the most part, i'll take some pics ... waiting on a chain guide spacer, larger 49T sprocket wouldn't fit.
thing looks rad, kid is dying to ride it.
Beta 200RR
it's done + he loves it. perfect size right in-between the 50 and 65. got about 1.5hr out of the battery on map 3 (of 6).
comparison shots
we also threw on some KTM 10mm bar risers and Nihilo frame grip tape. i'm going to try the 65 front fender to see if it fits, would match bigger wheel better.

That swingarm is sexy
Great job as always
Yamaha
thanks, man! fingers x'd we have good luck with the battery and motor but the BW kit worked out awesome.
now i need to grab a portable generator, we'll be riding NC in 2 weeks. think i'm going with a Honda EU2200i, seems like the most solid in that category but double the price![]()

My Westinghouse (clone) 2250 has been solid the past few years, and MUCH cheaper than the Honda.
i got it for $696 OTD after sale pricing (999) + a bunch of gift cards we had stacking up. not bad.
