So, appears Mass has done away with the yellow plate and now we have 2 rather large stickers to affix somewhere to the bike
Anyone know about this and where they expect us to put the stickers?

There is a discussion on this topic over to NEDB. People are getting the run around from Mass Gov on the official placement of those stickers.
they were in the mail when I got home,
chap stick for reference. There are two stickers per registration. Says to put them on the front sides of the atv.
Anyone read the letter that came with the new stickers?

Stickers are to be placed to both sides of forward portion of the vehicle, so both decals are clearly visible and not obstructed. The decal with the reg exp. date on it must be placed on the LEFT side of the vehicle.
You are to remove the old yellow plate and recycle it.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about over on nedb, i'd much rather stick a registration sticker on the bike vs drilling holes and bolting a plate on it.
And they say Maine is back in time..Maine has had stickers AND online registration for over 6 years now![]()

I have no issue with the sticker over the plate. My issue is with where they want you to place it. They dont exactly say where but they way its described they want them on the radiator shrouds. The stickers dont fit. They made them too big. Some of us are also going to run into a crash survivability issue. The stickers are too exposed to rocks and trees. I dont see them lasting long. Not to mention what if you lose a shroud in a crash, not that it has ever happened in the past.
They are too big and too exposed. Wonder if I can get away with them on my forks.
Yeah, I could not find a good way to mount them on the shrouds last night that would work. Will wait to see if they come up with anything else in that nedb thread
yeah, i can see the confusion/frustration but i was just going to put them on my side number plates and be done with it. wont work on my shrouds either, very thin sections of plastic.

What worries me is the lack of clear answers as to weather or not out of staters coming to Mass to race will need Mass stickers... there is talk of requiring them?!
i read that too, cant see how that would even work![]()

Got my letter and stickers today, they are too big to put anywhere! my rm has conventional forks so the platic that surrounds the front forks may do, but I don't know about the XR...
Edit: let's make mounts and sell them
hmm, maybe i will be pissed about this toothey didnt look that big in the pic above but sounds like they are. bummer.
wonder who the hell chose the type and layout, it's awful for just a few basic elements. i might be doing some modification to mine
i had a similar thought, although not about selling them. was thinking through velcro or some other remove/restick option... or a way to mount then stash behind the rad shroud while riding... zip-tied, flexible tag of some sort that could be tucked in... dont know, need to get my stickers first then see.

Hahaa! the quad guys dont even know how they'll mount them. what a cluster this is gonna be...
just did some quick mockups, they are HUGE. i take my statement back... i'd rather bolt a yellow plate where they dont want it
maybe this project took place over the winter and their 'test ORV' was a 4-person snowmobile?![]()

I still have them sitting on my kitchen table. No clue where to put them at this point. lol
