graham's answer is "it's pulling in the loosening direction"
every one else will say that the safety wire (and possibly spring hooks) could loosen all the bolts of the headers, as well as the 4 non-sired bolts, loosen all other exhaust bolts, and fly out through the belly pan and pull a "JFK magic bullet" somehow off the bike and hit a rider
Not only is it pulling in the wrong dir on one bolt, on the other it's not pulling at all.
Haha yes. I must rewire Sunday. Clips not LRRS legal? Ahhhh good to know this now!
Confused on the springs of the exhaust. So with the header but being drilled and wired I should wire the springs?

Huh, I definitely have at least one of those clips on my bike. For the castle nut on my rear axle.

Clip is good on the radiator cap, too. Just can't use them on the oil drain anymore.
I wouldn't bother drilling a hole for wet racing, either. The water comes out when you lean.![]()

Ok , technically NOW is 4 day away from April 24th
Chris did you get garage ?
Anyone been watching the weather for the upcoming event? looks very similar to last seasons opener .....
what a weekend for my back.
- removed Yosh exhaust
- installed EKC exhaust (after drilling out flanges a but more)
- installed shock
- installed damper
- installed forks
- flushed coolant
- filled radiator with water
- changed oil and filter
- installed new front master cylinder
- aligned rear wheel for NHMS gearing
- flushed out old brake fluid with new stuff
- installed my old bodywork
it's ugly, but it's ready now.
just need to buy tires and gas.
safety wired everything humanly possible for LRRS rules
This is the week boys and girls. Now it's a real countdown.
Yup, full panic mode. I drastically underestimated the amount of prep work my tail would need just to get ready for paint. Between that, cold temperatures, normal pre-season maintenance, selling a vehicle and buying another, I'm thinking about plasti-dipping the whole tail yellow and then peeling it off and doing it right after round 1.
I rode my bike out of the basement and into the garage. First step compete.

rewired what i messed up wiring in the first place - drained, flushed and refilled coolant with distilled water/water wetter, reinstalled some bodywork and now waiting for some decals.
still need to coordinate with my other two friends, charge all the electronics, pack all the gear, load all the bikes - oh look it might snow - yay.
