My guess ,something to do with the streering or forks , but that's just a guess from me
as I understand it:
RAKE= the angle of the headstock from vertical. The higher the #, the more the front end pokes out. Higher angle, longer wheelbase... lower angle, easier to turn. Or, as Mark put it...
