I am trying to decide, I am even looking at lil 4 wheelers...
Zuma scooters, NSR50's, CRF50's, pocketbike?...
What is the most fun? Useful? practical? Cool?
Positives and negatives of each?
I know you can race pocketbikes up here in Vermont at a track in Barre but they seem too small.
The CRF is cool with plenty of upgrades but it is not streetable.
An NSR, or other varient would be cool, I think I can street it but there are no racing areas that I know of.
The Zuma scooter seems the most practical but no racing. Although my wife or I might take it to work in the summer.
A lil 4 wheeler would work well for carting stuff around at the track. Will the suspension hold?
Give me your ideas.
Ideally I would like something streetable just in case I wanna run to the store or something and not take my truck.
But I would go with an unstreetable if I could find some racing (dirt or road) in my area.
Thanks.

I know you can build your own out of a chainsaw and a scooter.

i'd get a scooter for 1 reason: you can easily haul shit (i.e. an unmounted tire and rim over to street-n-comp for mounting).

You should get the Boss Hoss with the 350 in it!!!

Those things are ridiculous.
Although they have gotten better over the years.
I have a line on a 50 and a Zuma scooter, we will see...
Anymore comments?

I do like that but don't you think it would be too small? I can get a CRF with big bars and stuff for $800Originally posted by highsider

Also looking at a NSR50 type for $800.
Zuma Scooter is around $1100-1300...

I had one (traded to Alex), each just seemed too... small I guess. The motor was more than enough for what I plan on doing...Originally posted by bigred875
xr/crf50 for sure

I guess I want something more "adult sized" (Zuma or NSR type) Although I could be swayed. Talk me outta it.![]()

buy one of my honda z-50's! $500 for either one.
1978 frame with shredder tires, lifan 86 cc motor, big bars, big boy springs, 4 speed manual clutch.
1972 frame with a huawei 86cc motor, 4 spd auto clutch, shredder tires, electric starter, big bars, big boy springs etc...
I actually had plans for an electrical system for the 72 so i could street it. (got the reg/rect... never installed... so no battery yet and hence the starter is just decoration at the moment)
both are set up real nice. just look like shit cause they get ridden a lot!

you can enter the motard mini races, and screw around on trails, they are just fun...take a beating.. the first drunken nsr/scooter crash and it'll cost you...
but an nsr would be pretty cool too....but you'd be worrying about scratching it and wrecking it
the scooter would be the most practical but probably the least fun

XR CRF 50 for sure. Tons of parts, put on street tires for motard or stunting, dirt tires for the woods. make some poppa wheelies.

I heard that Sugarhill Speedway will be running a mini-motard class once a month this year. If your leaning that way, you won't be riding alone. Half of the dozen or so regulars that race pocketbikes are shopping for mini-motards this month. Transworld sponsors a couple local pit bike things each year in New England too.
