Crash aside... You're looking comfortable on the bike. Moving around well, and I even noticed you shaking your elbows to make sure you weren't stiff on the bars.

Welcome to the club. We all end up on the ground sooner or later. As long as you're not hurt and you learned something from the crash it's really not a horrible thing to go through. now its time to get the bike fixed up better then it was before
Here are the pics :-( Frame and engine seem fine, I will have to strip it down and send it to Peter K to make sure

I'm glad your ok. You were moving around nice. Now you have have a good excuse to turn that gixxer into a trackday bike.
This is how your "eye" for motorcycles begins to change. Shininess gets replaced by durability, expensive replaced by affordable, pretty replaced by purposeful. There is nothing finer than a well prepped track motorcycle to my eye.
Josh, I'll message the contact for the local leather guy.

Crashes are never fun. Learn from it, your best track days are ahead of you.

What exactly happened? Saw you hit a bump and then a second later, you low sided, did you give too much right handlebar input? Can anyone see what he did?
My thought is he ran out of lean angle. When the bike finally breaks traction it doesn't look like it leans over any more, it just starts sliding away.
I don't think that "out of lean angle" is a real cause of any crash. It looks to me like he saw the outside of the track approaching fast and either tensed right up or simply bailed. There are no bumps there. Any perceived bumps are cause by rough inputs.
Hey Josh,
Sorry to hear about the incident. Glad you're ok though. The bike can be rebuilt easier than you can be. Unfortunately it'll be a good learning experience and you'll move on from there.
